One of the very best tribute bands playing today! The only regularly gigging band in the UK, portraying both Tina Turner and Cher. Ann-Marie portrays the powerhouse stage presence that is Tina Turner at her raunchiest, performing all the greatest hits with uncanny accuracy, both vocally and visually. Ann-Marie sang Nutbush City Limits live to Tina herself in 1996 at the NEC in Birmingham. This song therefore means a lot to Ann-Marie, as it does to Tina herself as it is the only song for which Tina has received a writing credit. Tina was born and raised in Nutbush, Tennessee and has titled one of her albums “The Girl From Nutbush.” Ann-Marie has borrowed both names to title her Tribute show – Ann-Marie as The Girl From Nutbush with The Nutbush City Band. Ann-Marie has performed at the Stadium of Light, home of Sunderland FC and sang “Simply The Best” to 42,000 fans. She can still be heard singing the famous song in the background every Saturday to the football results! Other outside events where Ann-Marie and her band have performed include Rochester Castle, which was attended by over 2,000 people. They performed on one of the largest stages since becoming a Tribute Band which had just been transported the previous weekend from Glastonbury. They supported the ABBA tribute band, “Bjorn Again” who reputedly started the whole Tribute genre! They also appeared in Castletown on the Isle of Man. This was an event for the whole town to celebrate and was dubbed “Thank you for the Music.” The Gig took place in the town square in front of 4,000 people. TV appearances include This Morning with the legendary Richard and Judy, HTV and most recently the Band appeared on Yorkshire TV for the Yorkshire Person of the year awards 2006. |
